Happiness

Most of us probably don’t believe we need a formal definition of happiness; we know it when we feel it, and we often use the term to describe a range of positive emotions, including joy, pride, contentment, and gratitude. But to understand the causes and effects of happiness, researchers first need to define it. Many of them use the term interchangeably with “subjective well-being,” which they measure by simply asking people to report how satisfied they feel with their own lives and how much positive and negative emotion they’re experiencing. In her 2007 book The How of Happiness, positive psychology researcher Sonja Lyubomirsky elaborates, describing happiness as “the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one’s life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile.”
That definition resonates with us here at Greater Good: It captures the fleeting positive emotions that come with happiness, along with a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in life—and suggests how these emotions and sense of meaning reinforce one another.

Why Pratice Happiness?
In addition to making us feel good, studies have found that happiness actually improves other aspects of our lives. Here is an overview of some of the good stuff that research has linked to happiness.
·         Happiness is good for our health: Happy people are less likely to get sick, and they live longer.
·         Happiness is good for our relationships: Happy people are more likely to get married and have fulfilling marriages, and they have more friends.
·         Happy people make more money and are more productive at work.
·         Happy people are more generous.
·         Happy people cope better with stress and trauma.

·         Happy people are more creative and are better able to see the big picture.

Facts that Guys should know about Girls

What do Girls Like in a Guy and Out of A Relationship?

Wondering what ideal type of a guy does girls want? Don’t worry we got you covered and here are the facts we surveyed on the things girls love about a guy and in a relationship.
1)    Girls try to hint at what they want from guys, they don’t like to say it. Read from the cues.
2)    Girls like holding hands. A guys girlfriend wants to be the only hand that he wants to hold. Even in public, it means you’re protecting her and proud of her.
3)    Girls love to be surprised especially during important occasions. Yes boyfriends might buy her some gifts but that doesn’t mean she just loves the material things that come with the relationship. It just means you remember her.
4)    Girls like it when guys ask advice from them. This action just shows that you trust her, and that she’s someone you can count on to. She loves to talk and by asking her, she’d feel that her opinion matters to you.
5)    If a girl compliments an item of clothing that her boyfriend wears, take the none verbal cue and wear it more.
6)    Girls like guys who can protect her. Make her feel safe with you all the time.
7)    Be protective, but not too much. She likes it when you care for her, but not to the point of choking her at times.
8)    If a girl really wants to be with a guy, she’ll make sure it happens.
9)    Girls don’t like too flirty guys. Flirting with a lot of girls simply means you’re not a one-woman-man; remember that actions speak louder all the time.

10) Girls want to feel that your proud of having them. They may not tell you but sometimes they want you to show them off to your family and friends.

How To Be A Good Person Everyday

Some days are good, some days are bad, but remember for every good day you’re having, someone else might have just stubbed their toe, spilled coffee on their shirt en route to an interview, or just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or on the street, or…well let’s not go in a depressed direction thinking about someone waking up on the wrong side of the dumpster and move on to the simple gestures and nice things each of us can do daily.
Smile at people. Maybe it’s a stranger, maybe you’re passing by hundreds of people in rush, or it’s just someone that you’re sharing an elevator with. A genuine smile can make someone’s day. And it’s super easy, unless you have a cheek or mouth disease, then that could make it difficult, but fight through it and smile like you mean it. It goes a long way and each time you smile, it will make you feel good.
Tell someone they look nice today. Maybe they’re wearing an outfit that makes you question everyday fashion, but who cares? Compliments can truly make that persons day. Want to amp it up a bit? Walk past that person (in your office/at a restaurant/etc.) then take a few steps back and say, “Wow, I love that top; so pretty.”

Don’t let negativity be contagious. It’s all around us, all the time. People love to complain, and let them, just don’t listen to them. One person’s meaningless complaint has nothing to do with you. Be positive. Let that positivity glow on you. Soon, your positive attitude will be contagious, and next thing you know you’re rubbing off on the people who drive you mad daily.

5 Creative Ways to Surprise Your Boyfriend

Why is it important to surprise your boyfriend?

There are some relationships which always stay fresh, and the couple always seem as into each other as they were when they first got together. Ever wondered how these sorts of couples do it? It’s easy! These couples make an effort to keep the spice going in their relationships by always thinking outside of the box and adding splashed of spontaneity here and there – a last minute trip to the seaside at the weekend, or a surprise bubble-bath in the evening after work!
It is these little things, which maintain the intimate connection between them because they both know that they are thinking about each other.
Doing new things together and sharing experiences also makes them feel exactly like they did when they first started dating – giddy, excited, anticipating fun-times – all because they don’t know what to expect from their mini adventures.

How to keep the fire alive in your own relationship

There are many ways you can keep the fire burning in your relationship, and it doesn’t all have to revolve around the bedroom. Sometimes doing the ordinary and mundane things in life, but adding an injection of fun and unpredictability in with the familiar can make you both feel good and bring you closer together. So we have come up with 5 creative ways in which you can surprise your boyfriend and strengthen your bond…

1.    Initiate a food fight

Okay, so it might seem a little bit juvenile, and there’s no guarantee he will find it amusing, some people are too stuffy to appreciate a messy bit of rough and tumble, but if you’ve got a laid-back boyfriend, and you’re both at home in your slacks, then why not eye him across the kitchen table with a cheeky glint in you eye and tease him by bending back your ice-cream loaded spoon? He will probably give you a look of  warning that says don’t you dare, that’s when you should lob it at him and dive for cover!
It’s going to be the last thing on earth he is expecting, and it is certainly a creative way to surprise him, have a good laugh, get a little bit messy and have a shower together afterwards.

2.    Warm his T-shirt on the radiator for him

Do something small and unpredictable to show your boyfriend that you care, like pop his T-shirt on the radiator on a cold winter morning before he gets up to get dressed. If you don’t mention it to him, and then let him discover it, he will instantly fall in love with you that little bit more! Everyone appreciates finding out they have a partner who is thinking about them first thing in the morning. It’s soppy, but true.
3.    Three sneaky little ways to show you’re always up for a bit of mischief

A guy will think he has died and gone to heaven once he discovers his girlfriend is a cheeky little minx. It’s every guy’s dream. Try one of these ideas to express the cheeky side of your personality…
·         When you are out together on a daytrip, towards the end of the day when you are heading back home, tell your boyfriend that you’ve been walking around all day with no knickers on! He won’t be able to wait to get you back, and the train journey home should be interesting!
·         Pinch his bum when he is least expecting it – Most effective when done in a public place with a poker face on. Ignore his reaction and then when he is least expecting it, do it again, this time with a sexy glint in your eye!
·         Tell him your cooking dinner in five minutes and to meet you in the kitchen. Then turn up wearing nothing but a frilly apron!
4.    Secretly book a hotel room for the night

It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to spend a night in a swanky hotel!
Don’t tell him about the booking though, instead go for a relaxing stroll together, and then as you are passing the hotel mention that they have a wonderful roof terrace bar, and that you’d love to check it out! If you checked in earlier then you should already have the key to the room in your pocket, so while he thinks you’re both heading up to the roof, really you’ll be heading to your suite!
Surprises like this that are pre-planned and totally out of the ordinary will blow his mind!
Make sure you pack a couple of toothbrushes and a change of clothes for the morning, especially if either of you are going to work, and drop them off to the room beforehand.

5.    Random gifts are always a great surprise…

Get the best effect by popping his favourite bar of chocolate in his pocket without him know so that he finds it later just when he is starting to feel a bit peckish. Or write him a sexy love letter and slip it into his briefcase with a spray of your perfume. You could buy him a new aftershave and leave it in the bathroom cabinet for him to discover, or really go to town and create a treasure map marking all the places you have hidden his surprise random gifts with an X!

Love?

Love,
Has a million meanings unsaid
Having a variety of beauty is always in the imagined
Owned by two people who look after each other, love each other, and love each other
Love often make their owners a broken heart
Not a few people who fell through the cracks because of love
Even many who wept so
Is it true love?
Wrong when asking questions like this?
I think love is sandwiched between tears and laughter
Love has a very thin partition between them
It can make all the people who have them happy,
Also could make even sadly disappointed
However, love can always overcome it all right?
To me, love is not just words
Love is sacrifice, modesty, honesty, loyalty, and sincerity
I see it all at your figure
Lots of laughter and jokes that you do
Not a bit too sad you gave
Then you always make everything back to normal
Your sacrifice, countless
Simplicity mu, in making a smile on my face
Your honesty, in all the things that you went through
Your loyalty, you always show
Your sincerity, doing it all

Thank you for never tired of doing it

Cinta?

Cinta,
Mempunyai sejuta makna yang tak terucap
Memiliki berbagai keindahan yang selalu di bayangkan
Dimiliki oleh dua orang yang saling menjaga, saling menyayangi, dan saling mengasihi
Cinta seringkali membuat hati pemiliknya patah
Bagiku, cinta bukanlah sekedar kata-kata
Cinta adalah pengorbanan, kesederhanaan, kejujuran, kesetiaan, dan keikhlasan
Aku melihat itu semua pada sosokmu
Banyak tawa dan canda yang kamu lakukan
Tidak sedikit pula sedih yang kamu beri
Lalu kamu selalu membuat semuanya kembali seperti sedia kala
Pengorbananmu, yang tak terhitung
Kesederhanaanmu, dalam membuat satu senyum di wajahku
Kejujuranmu, dalam semua hal yang kamu alami
Kesetiaanmu, yang selalu kamu tunjukan
Keikhlasanmu, dalam melakukan itu semua

Terimakasih untuk tidak pernah lelah dalam melakukan hal tersebut

A.    Relative Clauses

What is Relative Clauses?
Relative clauses are non-essential parts of a sentence. They may add meaning, but if they are removed, the sentence will still function grammatically. There are two broad types of relative clauses in English. It is important to distinguish between them because it affects the choice of pronoun used to introduce the clause.
Relative clauses are clauses starting with the relative pronouns who, that, which, whose, where, when. They are most often used to define or identify the noun that precedes them. Here are some examples:
Examples :
§  The woman who visited me in the hospital was very kind.
§  Do you know the girl who started in grade 7 last week?
§  The umbrella that I bought last week is already broken.
§  The weather that we had this summer was beautiful.
§  Can I have the pencil that I gave you this morning?
§  A notebook is a computer which can be carried around.
§  I won't eat in a restaurant whose cooks smoke.
§  I want to live in a place where there is lots to do.
§  Yesterday was a day when everything went wrong!
Note 1: The relative pronoun whose is used in place of the possessive pronoun. It must be followed by a noun.
Note 2: The relative pronouns where and when are used with place and time nouns.
Note 3 : Some relative clauses are not used to define or identify the preceding noun but to give extra information about it. Here are some examples:
Notes 4: There is a relative pronoun whom, which can be used as the object of the relative clause. For example: My science teacher is a person whom I like very much. To many people the word whom now sounds old-fashioned, and it is rarely used in spoken English.

B.     Conditional Sentences

·         Definiton
Conditional tenses are used to speculate about what could happen, what might have happened, and what we wish would happen. In English, most sentences using the conditional contain the word if. Many conditional forms in English are used in sentences that include verbs in one of the past tenses. This usage is referred to as "the unreal past" because we use a past tense but we are not actually referring to something that happened in the past. There are five main ways of constructing conditional sentences in English. In all cases, these sentences are made up of an if clause and a main clause. In many negative conditional sentences, there is an equivalent sentence construction using "unless" instead of "if".
·         Type of Conditional Sentences

Conditional sentence type
Usage
If clause verb tense
Main clause verb tense
Zero
General truths
Simple present
Simple present
Type 1
A possible condition and its probable result
Simple present
Simple future
Type 2
A hypothetical condition and its probable result
Simple past
Present conditional or Present continuous conditional
Type 3
An unreal past condition and its probable result in the past
Past perfect
Perfect conditional

§     The zero conditional is used for when the time being referred to is now or always and the situation is real and possible. The zero conditional is often used to refer to general truths. The tense in both parts of the sentence is the simple present. In zero conditional sentences, the word "if" can usually be replaced by the word "when" without changing the meaning.
Examples :
1.      If I sleep late, I am sleepy at work.
2.       If you dry fruits or vegetables, they lose their nutrient and calorie.
3.      If one doesn’t drink after doing exercise, one gets dehydrated.
4.       If we burn paper, does it become ash?

§  Type 1 conditional

The type 1 conditional is used to refer to the present or future where the situation is real. The type 1 conditional refers to a possible condition and its probable result. In these sentences the if clause is in the simple present, and the main clause is in the simple future.

Examples :

1.      If I find her address, I will give invitation

2.      If the bell rings, I’ll go home.

3.      If you meet Andy, ask him to call me.

4.      If the volunteers do not come to help, the victims of the landslide will die

5.      If she has much money, she will buy a new car for her father.

§  Type 2 conditional

The type 2 conditional is used to refer to a time that is now or any time, and a situation that is unreal. These sentences are not based on fact. The type 2 conditional is used to refer to a hypothetical condition and its probable result. In type 2 conditional sentences, the if clause uses the simple past, and the main clause uses the present conditional.

Examples :

1.      If it rained tomorrow, I would sleep all day.

2.      If Nisa studied hard, she would pass.

3.      If I were a millionaire, I would donate my money to charity.

4.      Were She here, I would tell her that I love her.

5.      I would be there now if she invited me to her wedding party.

§        Type 3 conditional
The type 3 conditional is used to refer to a time that is in the past, and a situation that is contrary to reality. The facts they are based on are the opposite of what is expressed. The type 3 conditional is used to refer to an unreal past condition and its probable past result. In type 3 conditional sentences, the if clause uses the past perfect, and the main clause uses the perfect conditional.
§  Mixed type conditional

The mixed type conditional is used to refer to a time that is in the past, and a situation that is ongoing into the present. The facts they are based on are the opposite of what is expressed. The mixed type conditional is used to refer to an unreal past condition and its probable result in the present. In mixed type conditional sentences, the if clause uses the past perfect, and the main clause uses the present conditional.

Examples:
1.      If he had asked you for forgiveness, would you have forgiven him?
2.      If you hadn’t known the truth, you shouldn’t have spreaded the gossip.
3.      Had you told her that you would marry her last year, she wouldn’t have been with him.
4.      If I had given the interviewer really good answers, I might have got a higher position than you.
5.      If you had remembered to invite me, I would have attended your party.
